KNIT-A-LONG FAQs

Q: What is a knit-a-long?

A: A Knit-a-Long (or Knit Along or KAL) is an event that is typically held virtually via e-mail, social media, and Ravelry where knitters all start and end the same project together. It’s a super fun way to encourage everyone to finish while providing peer support along the way.

q: HOW AND WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?

A: Our Maine Yarn Cruise knit-a-longs will all be held virtually via e-mail and Facebook groups, so no need to be in Maine to participate. Each week, you’ll receive an email outlining the progress you may have already made while giving you progress goals for the next week, as well as advice and tips on how to tackle any difficult or intricate techniques.

But the real fun comes with the private KAL Facebook groups! You can join (or leave) whenever you like, post as much or as little as you prefer, and learn from your fellow knitters’ posts. And whether or not you interact at all, it’s an excellent way to find ideas and feel part of a friendly community.

Q: Do I have to join the Facebook group?

A: Nope! It’s entirely optional. You will get the same weekly updates whether you’re just subscribed to the emails or part of the FB group as well

Q: where can i learn more about the projects?

A: For timelines, pattern details, and example projects, visit each of our individual KAL project pages (links above the photos).

Q: I still have questions!

A: If you still have questions about the three Maine Yarn Cruise KALs of 2022, please use our contact form and we would be happy to answer any inquiries you have.
